OREO COOKIE COWS

13-Apr-10
A LOCAL SIGHT TO SEE
For a local “fun to see” item, drive north on old Mission Road (old 27) through Rosebush. And don’t forget to take your camera.
Not many miles towards Clare if you look to the left (west) there is a farm that features cows that are black on both ends and white in the middle.
We call them the “Oreo Cookie Cows” and this year they have “baby cows” with the same markings. (Yes, farmers, I know that baby cows are calves – but our kids and grand kids called them “baby cows” – so there!)
I was so impressed with them that a picture is included in our family calendar (an annual effort) with the following poem(????):

A ways up north, some strange cows live;
When you see them you really take a “lookie”!
Their stripes are funny – a ring around the middle;
They really resemble an Oreo cookie!

Sorry ‘bout that. I pulled a Dr. Seuss and made up my own word in an effort to make a “rhyme”.

Many of you have probably seen these cows already, but if you haven’t, it’s not far away – the cows are photogenic and near the road – but be careful of the traffic. Even a chance to see “Oreo Cookie Cows” is not worth getting run over!
